Ubuntu and BCM4312 (rev2) wireless

This forum thread talks about 4312rev1 (calls it 4310). Says it's not supported, and that the only recourse is Broadcom's proprietary STA driver.

Works. Enable b43 driver. Right click on Network Manager, navigate to Wireless tab, and click add. On this run it crashed, but still worked after xkilling the window. Will test again this marvellous providence.

Second test yielded different but equally good behaviour. Had to search manually for the network in order to kick it into submission. Will install Intrepid Ibex at the next convenience.

Need to install the nVidia drivers and see if they work (I'm sure they will) but this requires a reboot. Worth the hassle.
